Welcome to the Tool Driven blog. It is my hope that this blog will periodically bring new information to the folks who use hammers regularly.

I started Tool Driven after a chance encounter with a carpenter named Steven. He struggled with elbow problems from years of using heavy steel handled hammers and I wondered if there was a better way to build a hammer.

I spent the next 18 months in my garage: welding, tinkering, measuring, weighing, filming, and experimenting. I spent a full summer working with retired professional carpenters at Habitat for Humanity testing and refining one prototype after another.

The Tool Driven line of hammers represent the culmination of that work. It’s a hammer design that fixes the fundamental problem with the ubiquitous, heavy steel handled hammers. They transfer virtually zero shock to the arm, drive nails more efficiently and are easily field serviceable.

If you’re looking for a hammer that’s easy on your arm, lighter on your tool belt, or drives with more authority, I think you’ll be really happy with a Tool Driven hammer.
